Highlights of 2022 in M2M Solutions

Year 2022 was truly intense for our company and it brought about several important events. Here is a short summary of a few highlights.

Improvements go on and on

Fast advance of technologies along with feedback from our customers hold a great influence over development of our products and we never cease in our attempts to improve them. The ending year was in a major way connected with our Vision system based on neural networks. The system allows highly precise and effective identification of objects in a matter of milliseconds. It utilizes standard cameras and carries a tremendous potential, helps to improve effectiveness of processes, and workplace safety of employees and at the same time dramatically lowers costs of employed technologies.

We are well aware of what it means to be a good partner – timely high quality deliveries in the requested quantities. For this very reason we created the Manipulate to Light (M2L) technology for to support dispatch of parts according to recipe. This year, we installed M2L on-site for several of our new customers in Slovakia and Germany. We also improved our product with a next-gen module - a device controlling LED strips utilized by the system. The strips don’t just guide warehouse operatives around warehouses, but also show the amount of materials dispatched and the correct order label and fulfill additional supporting roles.

On top of the warehouse system (WMS), we created a Packaging portal that fulfills the need to track the flow of packaging materials. This solution allows to control the flow and monitor their current location in the supply chain. System UI for suppliers is improved by notifications and brings fast and always up-to-date overviews in electronic form for everyone involved.

Our DYMS (dock and yard management) logistic system project in China means that our activities expand to 4th continent. Implementation of the solution also includes a modern mobile app that allows drivers of shipping companies to communicate online with their facility.

Expansion into healthcare domain

The ending year brought interesting developments also in healthcare. For our customer Svet zdravia we developed a logistic and warehouse system for next-gen hospitals. We were tasked to digitize control of internal logistics and thus make processes in hospitals more effective, but the main priority was to eradicate any potentially fatal mistakes. Our solution integrates innovations such as working with empty hands using Proglove Display scanner. The system is ready for further utilization not just by the hospital network run by Svet zdravia, but also by any other network of hospitals or medical facilities. We are proud that our WMS and logistic solution, specially tailored to fit the needs of hospitals, has a major impact on improving the quality of their services, as health is something that concerns us all.

The end of the year saw us successfully turning in a pharma serialization system to our customer. The system was created as a response to legislative demands of the European Union. Its purpose is to ease the legislative burden associated with production of pharmaceuticals as much as possible for all their producers. Pharma serialization system is able to register up to 30 000 packages a month with EU HUB and is ready to be utilized also in other areas of life.

We are especially delighted by ongoing cooperation with University of Oxford and Diamond Light Source Ltd on the Fragalysis project. We are developing a web app that can be used by scientists from all around the globe to speed up the development of pharmaceuticals. Data are currently available to anyone with experience and expertise in fields of state-of-the-art computing tools and science.

Discovering space - the final frontier

Ambitions of our company don’t end here on Earth, but our portfolio is successfully growing with space projects. Our cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) continues and we had the privilege to welcome ESA’s representatives in our headquarters during the first half of the year. We evaluated the progress on the project as part of the PECS program along with future plans and vision. We are deeply grateful for valuable advice and support the meeting brought.

We consider our participation on space research missions to be a true milestone in our efforts. We have gained a prestigious European project, which is a part of the Horizon program. Here we will cooperate with the very best in the field of European space research. Our task will be to develop navigation software for an exploration drone that we plan to send to Mars! We consider work on these projects to be not just a huge success, but also a major source of motivation going forward.

Many, many meetings

Year 2022 brought us opportunities to take part in many conferences, expos, discussions and other events of import taking place at different specialized platforms. We highly appreciate every single offer to give a speech about both our products and visions. We don’t value just opportunities to present ourselves, but we really appreciate the opportunity to meet and improve our relations with our partners.

On 16th December 2022, The Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic awarded 2021 Science and Technology Award in the Personality of Science and Technology category to our CEO Martin Jančo for a major contribution to the creation of the intelligent industry Ecosystem including the sphere of smart mobility and space.

Year 2022 was also full of uncertainty, challenges, and trials that also influenced human society as a whole. Pandemic during the previous years made planning challenging, this year was influenced by the war on Ukraine. We too have noticed a trend of increased fluctuation in the field of IT, but we managed to hold the number of our employees on comparable level even though some of our employees handed in their notices. At the same time, we’ve revised salaries several times not just as a response to rising inflation.

Big ideas and goals for 2023

We are not just looking forward to 2023, we also have big goals and many ideas and we can’t wait to make them reality.

One of our plans is to launch greenTLS, the anticipated portal for shared transport services. This smart solution allows users to optimize and control logistics on a level of a whole region. Aside from economic aspects, it also brings huge ecological benefits for society. The portal is intended for all shipping companies, small and big alike, and will be really helpful in fulfilling the European Union’s ecology goals. Our solution brings effective use of truck cargo capacity and decreases their idle time, which in turn lowers the number of trucks on roads. This in turn lowers the probability of traffic jams and the amount of CO2 emissions.

We are planning a pilot project of autonomous inventory check and inspection carried out by drones utilizing the Vision system. Unmanned drones are the future of indoor and outdoor warehousing. Completely autonomous drones equipped with hi-res cameras and sensors allow us to complete various tasks ranging from data collection and regular inventory check to regular autonomous inspection. Automatic inventory check outside of regular business hours saves manpower and cuts the time it takes back from several days to a few hours.

We expect the order of our transport logistic solution from a new customer located on a continent yet untouched by our activities. This would spread our activities to the 5th continent.
