We run the world with DYMS!
Our verification team covers testing of products that we constantly innovate, develop and we use the latest technologies. That is why it forms an integral part of our company, the job of the verification team is to ensure that products are brought to perfection and to directly cooperate with developers while implementing products at the customer’s company, factory or warehouse.
A tester is not just a person sitting at the laptop and scrolling down or clicking all day long. A tester is a person who works with the hardware, visits the customers and checks the real environment or prepares documentation for the implementation of products according to the real situation at the customer.
We are currently cooperating with the Continental company, which has branches all over the world and their innovation testing center is located in Slovakia. One of the innovations is our Dock & Yard Management System (DYMS) project, which was deployed in Zvolen branch. After a successful pilot, there is currently interest in the system in other branches worldwide.
Another stop for the implementation of the DYMS product, after the Brazilian company in Guarulhose, was the Continental company in Toulouse, France, where we sent our colleague Janči. Equipped with safety shoes, a reflective vest and all the necessary documents, he set out to examine the conditions for the installation of hardware in the company.
The role of the DYMS system is to ensure the coordinated processing of scheduled and unscheduled shipments (unloading / loading), as well as the transfer of drivers through the unloading / loading process within the company, which facilitates the work of gate-keepers. To enter the company’s area, the driver has to register at the multilingual kiosk. If the plant has its own mobile communication devices, after successful registration, the driver gets a device automatically assigned by the system, which is stored in the parcel locks. Then driver is instructed on the device on how to proceed. If the company does not have own mobile communication devices, instructions for the driver are sent by the system in the form of SMS messages to the phone number, that the driver enters during registration at the kiosk.
At the Toulouse branch, it was necessary to determine where and under what conditions a kiosk could be installed and the appropriate location of sensors detecting vehicles parked under the docks. Due to the different types of vehicles parked under the individual docks and the different solutions of the docks, it was necessary to personalize the solutions. In addition, Janči's task was to identify suitable positioning of cameras needed for the recognition of evidence number of vehicles for automatic openings of ramps for entry and exit from the company’s area.
Janči discussed with the company’s staff about possible modifications within the area and the subsequent possibility of installing hardware for the DYMS system and preparing the infrastructure for the hardware. At the end of the day, when the meeting of several stakeholders took place, including colleagues from our company, the last Janči’s task was to prepare a documentation based on the findings of the real environment of the company’s area. After that, further steps could be taken to prepare a plan for the final installation of hardware at the customer.
Our verification department work as a Quality Gate and that is why they are part of almost the entire implementing process. The next step will be the completion of the hardware in our company, testing and after sending it to the customer, installation and testing in the company’s environment. We can't wait!
